Diana Taremwa Karakire
Founder and Editor
Diana is a multi-award winning climate journalist based in Uganda with over 10 years of wide ranging experience as a freelance international reporter. She is the founder of Indigenous Times Media. She has reported for a wide range of outlets over the years, including Associated Press, Equal Times, Biofuels International, Ubuntu Times, African Business magazine, Mongabay, Climate Tracker, The Continent and the Earth Journalism Network. Diana was named Journalist of the Year by the Uganda National Population Council in 2022. She was also a 2021 gender justice fellow with the International Women's Media Foundation and 2022 Indigenous stories grantee with Earth Journalism Network (EJN). Her focus lies in advocating for environmental protection and conservation, human rights, highlighting the voices of marginalized communities, indigenous groups and exposing corruption.

Dominic Kirui
Senior Editor and Investigative Journalist
Dominic is a journalist and fixer based in Nairobi, Kenya. He writes on gender, climate change, access to clean water, food security, culture, conflict, politics, and global development. He has reported for various media including Al Jazeera, Equal Times, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Epoch Times and NewsDeeply. Reporter Based in Zimbabwe
Calvin is a multi-award winning international journalist who has reported across Africa, US and Europe. His interests are in climate science, health, insurance and the intersection of power, gender, and social development. Calvin brings years of experience covering Indigenous issues with sensitivity and deep understanding.

Innocent Jeff Kiiza
Reporter Based in Uganda
Innocent Kiiza is a Ugandan investigative journalist with over a decade of experience. His expertise encompasses science, the environment, climate change, and health. As a fellow of the Reuters Institute at Oxford University and the Thomson Foundation, Innocent is a passionate advocate for grassroots storytelling. He consistently highlights the voices of vulnerable communities and showcases indigenous solutions to climate crises. He won the 2024 Isu Elihle Award and was named the second runner-up for climate reporting at the 2025 Uganda National Journalism Awards.

Cindy Sipula
Reporter Based in Lusaka, Zambia
Cindy is a multimedia science and data journalist, and fact-checker who reports on environment, climate change, and sustainable development. With over eight years of experience in print, electronic and online media, she is based in Lusaka, Zambia and is a member of MISA Zambia and the Zambian Bloggers Network. Her work has been supported by the Pulitzer Centre, Earth Journalism Network, and others.

Charles Pensulo
Editor and Reporter
Charles is a Malawian journalist based in Blantyre, who has built a reputation for his incisive reporting on a range of critical issues including health, humanitarian affairs, social justice, climate change, food security, human rights, and global development. He has worked with several international publications including Thomson Reuters Foundation, The Guardian, Semafor and Africa Arguments.
